The Story of Ernie: My Journey in Gamin

It all started in high school when I got the nickname "Ernie," and for some reason, it stuck with me ever since. I’ve always had a love for the Zelda games, and one character that stood out to me was Shadow Link, or Dark Link. I felt a connection with that character because it symbolizes the idea that everyone has a side they hide, a shadow or dark part that people don’t always want to show. That’s why I combined "Ernie" with "Shadow" to create my gamer tag—it felt like it represented me perfectly.
The first game I ever played was Gauntlet Legends on the PS1. It was a thrilling experience that set me on the path to where I am today. That game introduced me to the magical world of gaming and gave me an outlet for creativity and excitement that I hadn’t experienced before
My Favorite Game: A Mood-Dependent Choice
Picking my favorite game isn’t easy because it really depends on my mood and what’s going on in my life. Right now, Borderlands is the game I’m into, but if I had to pick a game that keeps replaying in my mind, it’s Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. That game holds a special place in my heart because it was the first shooter-RPG-action-adventure game I got into when I moved in with my grandparents after my parents split up. I couldn’t access my PS1 since it was locked up in the farm attic, so that game became a major part of my escape during those tough times.
Of course, I can’t forget about the OG Pokémon games, especially the ones before Sun and Moon. I played those so much that I literally wore out the game cartridges. Then there are classics like Red Dead Redemption II, the Horizon Zero Dawn series, Fallout 4, and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Those games, with their immersive worlds and unforgettable stories, became staples in my gaming life.
I love a variety of genres: RPGs, FPS, TPS, platformers, stealth games, adventure, strategy, and action games. Sometimes, I even dabble in horror games, but only when I’m in the mood for a good scare. What I really look for in a game is a great story—something that draws me in and keeps me hooked from start to finish.
Gaming became my escape from the world and my troubled thoughts. When I moved in with my grandparents, the kid across the street introduced me to the world of gaming on his older brother’s Xbox. We played Halo together, and I became obsessed. From that point on, gaming was all I wanted—for birthdays, Christmas, or any special occasion. I wanted to immerse myself in those virtual worlds because they helped me escape reality.
Over the years, aside from sports games, I can honestly say there hasn’t been a game I’ve disliked. I’ve played countless titles, and each one brought something unique to the table. Gaming became more than just a hobby—it became a part of me.
I stream for one simple reason: I want to turn my passion into something that pays the bills. If I can get good at streaming and make money from it, I can finally quit my job and do something I truly love. That’s the dream, right? To spend your days doing what makes you happy, and for me, that’s gaming.

In five years, I hope to have quit my current job and be streaming full-time. I want to build a career around gaming and make gameplay videos for a living. More than that, I want to be able to tell my future kids (if I have any) that they can follow their dreams, just like I did. I want to show them that if you’re passionate about something, you should never give up on it—because eventually, you’ll get there.

 Role Playing Games

Role-Playing Games (RPGs) have captivated players for decades, blending storytelling, character development, and immersive gameplay. In RPGs, players assume the roles of characters in rich, often fantastical worlds, embarking on epic quests and engaging in complex narratives that evolve based on their choices.

Traditionally, RPGs are categorized into different subgenres, including turn-based, action, and MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online RPGs). Turn-based RPGs, like "Final Fantasy" and "Persona," emphasize strategy and tactical combat, while action RPGs such as "Dark Souls" and "The Witcher" focus on real-time gameplay, allowing for more fluid interactions. MMORPGs, like "World of Warcraft," connect thousands of players online, fostering vibrant communities and extensive social interactions.
Character customization is a hallmark of RPGs, enabling players to create unique heroes, select classes, develop skills, and gather equipment. This level of personalization enhances player investment in the storyline and creates a more engaging experience.

1 Immersive Storytelling: RPGs often feature rich narratives filled with complex characters and intricate plots. Players experience stories that evolve based on their choices, creating a deeply engaging and personal gaming experience.
2.Character Development: In RPGs, you have the opportunity to create and customize your character, shaping their abilities, appearance, and backstory. This deep connection fosters a sense of investment as you guide your character through challenges and growth.
3.Strategic Gameplay: Many RPGs involve thoughtful decision-making and strategic planning, whether it’s during combat or in managing resources. This can enhance critical thinking skills and provide a satisfying challenge.

First-person shooters (FPS) are a popular genre of video games that immerse players in a fast-paced, action-packed environment from a first-person perspective. Players typically take on the role of a character armed with various weapons, battling enemies in a range of settings, from urban landscapes to alien worlds.

Srotylines
Key elements of FPS games include realistic graphics, intuitive controls, and a variety of gameplay modes, including single-player campaigns and multiplayer experiences. Popular titles like "Call of Duty," "Counter-Strike," and "Halo" have defined the genre, offering everything from intense online competitions to story-driven experiences. With advancements in technology, FPS games continue to evolve, integrating features like virtual reality (VR) and detailed environmental interactivity, enhancing the overall player experience. Whether playing solo or teaming up with friends, FPS games deliver adrenaline-pumping excitement and strategic challenges that keep players engaged for hours

1.Intense Immersion: The first-person perspective allows players to feel as if they are truly inside the game world, enhancing immersion and engagement. This viewpoint creates a visceral experience as players navigate environments and face challenges head-on.
2.Skill Development: FPS games often require quick reflexes, accurate aim, and strategic thinking. Playing these games can improve hand-eye coordination, reaction times, and cognitive skills, all while providing a fun challenge.
3.Social Interaction: Many FPS games emphasize teamwork and communication, fostering social connections. Whether playing with friends or meeting new players online, these games can enhance social engagement and cooperation.

TPS, or third-person shooter, games offer players a unique perspective that combines action with strategic gameplay. In these games, players control a character from a viewpoint behind and slightly above the character, allowing for better spatial awareness and immersion in the game environment. Notable TPS titles like "Gears of War," "The Division," and "Fortnite" highlight various gameplay mechanics, from cover-based shooting to cooperative team play.

In a TPS game, players often navigate through richly detailed worlds, tackling missions, engaging in intense combat, and solving puzzles. The genre emphasizes not just reflexes and accuracy but also tactics and positioning as players take advantage of cover mechanics to outsmart enemies. The evolution of graphics and AI has further enhanced the experience, making these games increasingly popular among fans of action and adventure. Whether playing solo or in multiplayer modes, TPS games provide action-packed thrills and deep engagement

1.Immersive Perspective: The third-person viewpoint allows for better spatial awareness, enabling players to navigate complex environments and engage in tactical gunfights while maintaining a clear view of their character’s surroundings.
2.Strategic Gameplay: TPS games often emphasize strategic approaches, using cover mechanics and environmental elements to outsmart opponents. This encourages players to think critically about positioning and tactics rather than relying solely on reflexes.
3.Diverse Gameplay Styles: Many TPS games allow for customization of characters and playstyles, offering options like stealth, aggressive play, or team-oriented strategies, catering to different preferences
